"Realtime" has retired

Formed in 2003, Realtime entertained audiences all over the world with their unique sound and exciting stage performance, touring in Europe, Australia and New Zealand as well as all over North America.

We were very proud to win the World Championship of Barbershop Quartet Singing in 2005, realizing a long standing dream.

We had some truly amazing times together and met many, many wonderful people in our travels - we will never forget you!  We owe a huge debt to our wives who supported us enthusiastically while we traveled and sang, following our musical passion.  Thank you, thank you, thank you Steph, Corinne, Kari and Megan!

The Singers

The original four with gold medals are:
Tenor: Tim Broersma (2003 - 2010)
Lead: John Newell (2003 - 2007)
Baritone: Mark Metzger
Bass: Tom Metzger

Doug Broersma replaced John as lead of the group in 2007 and sang on dozens of shows and tours.

Joseph Livesey replaced Tim in 2011, after which the group changed their name to viaVoice (http://vvvocals.com) under which name they continue to sing, perform and tour.

Realtime recorded three albums that received various CARA awards: Four Brothers (2004), Ain't That A Kick (2006) and Take Five (2010).  Tracks are available on iTunes.

They also appeared in the movie American Harmony.

To our fans

Thank you for all the love you gave us - without you, we would only have been rehearsing.
